About Artist

Mahnoush Abbasgholy was born in 1979 in Tehran, Iran.

Displaying an affinity for the creative from an early age her parents conceded to her dream of studying Fine Arts at the University of Tehran.

Following the completion of her academic studies, Abbasgholy was invited to Dubai by JC Maclean to assist in the final stages of the Ibn Buttuta Mall project. Her particular style made her the perfect artist to complete the Tunisian Court as well as elements of the Egypt Court, and her work can still be seen here today.

After the completion of the Ibn Battuta project, Abbasgholy joined the Al Khamas Group, also in Dubai, for whom she worked six years. During this time she honed her skills as a commercial artist, working on hotel artwork and bespoke pieces for luxury restaurants and villas. Notably Ascott Hotels, Al Mankhool hotels and Bridgestone to name a few. She also worked on personal freelance projects for top-end brands Shangri-La and Grand Hiatt.

Following this she returned to Europe, perusing Paris, Austria, Spain and Belgium. While she was in Europe, Abbasgholy worked on a range of high-end private projects, creating bespoke pieces for boutique hotels, top-range restaurants and private houses.

Her paintings of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, displayed at the Opera Galleria in a special 2018 Omani National Day exhibition propelled her to the next level, in sell-out success.

Abbasgholy describes herself as a mixed-media artist, with a modern, abstract style. Her preferred medium is acrylic on canvas, incorporating her signature silver and gold leaf, bringing an extra feeling of depth and movement to her paintings.
